Default lost my keys

well not mine, been using my father in laws celica gt4 and have lost his keys, not just his car keys a whole clump o them

anyway phoned toyota today to get a replacement key and was told 'sorry we cant get keys for imports'

now the dealership is changing hands on the 1st of june but i do know they will be doing the warrenty work for a yr after that date so can still get parts. so im hoping the guy was talking sheeite cos he couldnt be bothered

but if he was being genuine, where the feck do i get a key??

oh yeah, he only had 1 key

your best bet is second hand check ebay and the like, they keys don't have a transponder so that's one worry off your mind, if you take a lock out without damage and go to a proper locksmith, they will be able to make you a key from the barrel without to much damage

Is it just a key or fob as well, we had a gt4 at my old work sitting there rotting I dunno if its a simple key/barrel/transponder change or would it be more involved

if you are able to get into it some how and take a lock off and to a lock smiths, they'd be able to sort one

thing is, i cant really pull the top of the door out to get something into open it as its glass topped doors. dont want to force a lock either. if i could get under the bonnet could maybe find the window relay and power it up so the window goes down

you will need to prise the top of the glass out gently and slide a long ruler down to press the unlock button on the drivers door card. trust me it can be done as i've done it before whilst i worked at toyota after a sales guy locked the keys in our demo ST

Theres loads of places if you search google

I had a guy come out to me ages ago when i lost keys to my focus. He got into it, cut and programmed 2 keys that worked with the remote central locking all at my home out the back of his van for £100 ! bargain i thought.
