I wasn't sure if you made original looms rod which is why I only mentioned will as a confirmed person 
This thread seems to be turning into a "lets blame steve for his brothers business being all fucked up even though its not his fault because he's in the internet rather than "lets just get the conman reported to the police etc and do things the way they are supposed to get done "

Certainly in the OP's case, why would you hand over a car AND cash to someone in one go? Surely common sense says you pay for the work when you collect the car and have inspected the work?
From the businesses point of view, if they do the work and you dont pay, they have your car
From the customers perspective, they have your car but you still have the cash in your pocket, which is their incentive to get the job done to a standard you are happy with.
Obviously there are differences when dealing with private sales, second hand parts etc.

the fat waste of space asks for cash up front to pay for materials...
I did not pay him in full,only a certain percentage(large)
marks a snake!!!he knows what hes doing and its a shame this happened to good natured guys.

Hi, I am suprised to hear people are still having problems with Mark at Bespoke Looms. Earlier in the year I did have a problem but with the kind help of Steve it was resolved and I got a superb quality loom which I was very happy with. I had hoped Mark had turned a corner and was getting on with running his business as it should be.
