Vauhall strange DTC
HI,
Bit of a long shot but maybe some Vauxhall Technical guys on here, i think chip is,
Ok had some strange DTC (Fault codes today off a Vauxhall Zafira 2003, 2.0 DTI THE CODES FOR THE ENGINE are 007002, 12220A, 15400D, 038004, E10307, 18110A, and a Generic code which Identified EGR valve related, Maybe they are Manufacturer Specific but i cant find any info on the net. ANY HELP would be appreciated .

Its has the 2.0 DTI and i think engine code is Y20DTH , not sure about the egr valve will check next time i'm by the car, it is a vehicle my brother lets some of the guys use who works for him, i had a quick look today (scan) just cranks over nothing else, will see if i can get some joy regarding the egr valve, and go from there, fuel pressure etc, The code just dont add up except the p0400. also asked on a vauxhall forum seems they are of the same opinion.

Yeh check to make sure its fueling, these dtis are a bad design so check the fuel leak off pipes as they suck in air, the main little issues these have are the egr valve sticking, and air in the fuel, also check to see if the key is ok if you have another key try that

Thanks for the info much appreciated, will check if i can to see if any air in the system regarding the return injector pipes, pity the main fuel pipes are not transparent to see any air.

These engine are a nightmare to get going if its got air im the system or has ran out of fuel ect.
regards the egr valve pretty comon fault on this engine there pretty expensive part on it to.check to see if its stick you can take the plastic cover off the back or front of it and push/pull the rod/valve to see if its sticking, also you are able to see if its bent.
Another compn fault os the throttlebody/top hat

Another common fault are the vac pumps, but it could be related to the lifter pump so try and jack up the back of the car to aid it slightly and any air should run back to the tank

Hi All,
And thanks for the info, strange what happened as with my other scan obdII tool it said no codes, when i first connected the Autocom tool i had to update the firmware, Today i scanned the car using same tool, no codes found, which matches the other tool, i have a feeling that the firmware effected the scan as today things make sence, only difference is the laptop has been re started, although it does not say or list that you have to restart after the firmware check, also notice the otherday the readings in live data did not makes sence for air or cts, or battery volts, only just had this new tool so still getting used to its menu as it does loads of functions DPF function and dpf ecu counters reset, injector programming and for some car ecu reprogram etc.
CHECKED the egr valve looks electric type and is fairly new by the look of it working very freely, When i crank it over the engine sounds rough at the timing chain area, it was towed in i am going to find out tomorrow from the guy who was last driving it what happened, and check the timing chain and valve timing,
