Default KONI shocks

this may well be an un-answerable question, but!

anybody know if all the koni shocks are adjustable??
(4x4 saph) the REAR in particular, as the saph i got has konis
on it,, i can obviously adjust the fronts at the tops..

but IF the rears are adjustable at all, 'where is me knob' to do it!?

(only had a quick look tonight and cant see it lol)

cheeeeers

You have to disconnect them at the bottom bush and rotate the lower half of the shock. What a pain in the arse!!

I set mine on the hardest setting before I fitted them!!

same as above i think
ive got yellows on mine
but been told even a soft setting on them is harder than standard shocks
in the doldrums??with this post ive asked loads of times whats the best
setting for a low car "no answers"
i cracked my back wheel on a cave pothole friday night
pondering if they would have been set on soft might have saved the alloy
its set up hard all round "and to be truth full "fooker" to drive
like a gocart

you have to compress them all the way to engage the adjusting nut inside, then twist to adjust.
They will go fookin hard at the highest setting, you won't want that on the roads round here!!!

Doesnt say you need to compress them on the instructions.. must say when i ajust mine without compressing them i cant tell the diffrence.

presumably they just spin round and round if you turn them whilst extended? Certainly with mine they have to be compressed so the adjuster inside engages, and they only turn the limited adjustment amount then. You will know when you've adjusted them hard!! they are all but impossible to extend by hand on the hardest setting..
Maybe worth mentioning that the majority of the adjustment is on rebound (extending direction) only, the bump setting (compression) varies very little.

RAN, if that's the case, you need to sort the spring rates, you shouldn't compensate inadequate spring rate with damper setting..

he came round last night saying it was funny in the bends and when he looked at the front dampers they were set to nearly the softest setting, so he wound em up a bit harder.

i didnt have a look cos i pissing about with my car, although at one point i heard "wheres the hammer fudgee,, oh, there it is"

so fook knows what hes done

RACEY.. they fronts were set pretty soft! (so i assume the rears were the same?) along the road to dads fast-ish sweeping corners and all
the car felt pretty 'wallowy' sorta thing.
Still all sorted now thanks for the help guys and gals!

BadCompany, it's all down to personal preference at the end of the day. I like the suspension to be quite firm, yet still have the rears on std/soft setting (Koni 'Yellow' Sports).

A mate bought an xr3i mk4 a few years ago and thought the suspension was rock hard but acceptable, he then drove my RST and couldn't understand how I could cope with the 'mega rock hard' suspension (FFS, the S2 ERST left the factory with 'hairdresser' settings )
