Walk passed it most days now and it looks mint. Find myself on pistonheads trying to find one but the prices have shotup recently.

I love these cars, not the quickest but the noise they make and the feel they give is lovely. I love how they rev as well.

I had a couple of mk2's back in the 90's sadly I've only got hard copy photos of them as it was before the age of cyber tecnics

great little cars, nippy as fook round the back streets I chased a fella in one once round the back streets of Putney/Fulham in my 2.8i capri I had at the time, suffice to say he left me for dust

the old mk2 and mk3 fiesta's have always been a lot of fun! I had a 1.4 ghia mk2 that I loved to bits, then a mk3 1.8 diesel then a mk3 RS turbo! The diesel was a bit sedate but the RS turbo is quite fast enough!

I got lucky with ours, 1 owner car with a genuine 65,000 miles on the clock advertised in the local paper for not alot. Went to look and had everything with it. C72 SDY. The guy that bought it off us took it straight home and took the kit off, I got an email saying "You was not lieing when you said it had no rust" it was spotless under the kit. He got a few bits sorted on her and showed the car. Never heard much back after he did the work which is a shame. Would love it back one day but I expect its massive money now

Hopefully have mine on the road this summer running a new zetec turbo engine.
Cant wait to put it through its paces! Was superb fun with the cvh turbo in it!

In Holland you dont see them very rarely for sale or on the road. There must be few left over here maybe 30 or less. I own one myself complete sprayed over and fitted new wings, doors front panel. So I know what i have with funky cvh engine with webers 40mm sweet lovely engine

Loved my old one, E390 JVT in black. Was lowered with a 4 branch, full stainless and K&N.

Love the simplicity of them but they are so much fun, and noise is addictive! Would have another in a heartbeat!

a friend of mine bought a new one in January 86 that was white as well, he was a bit of a sod though, he use to disconnect the speedo drive during the week because he was doing a few miles every day and didn't want to put high miles on it, only sold it when he got the girlfriend preggers

Has this car down to a bare shell in 1999 while i was banned . back on the road in 2002 .

Great little car but i got bored tbh after i got the 3 door . Was lso featured in classic ford .






I know its still used as a summer only car up in the wigan area

I do like an xr2, there was one near me for sale not so long ago with a 1.8 zetec for 1200 with no tax or mot, but it looked great. If I had the cash, I would of bought it.

My old beast.
Took a proper pounding everyday and never complained.
We're a bit underpowered compared to the pug 205's/nova gte's of the day but handled as well as any of them and were pretty reliable all told.

Just thinking I gave £250 for the xr2,spent about the same getting it on the road and £1100 for the s1 and again about the same to get it mint.

What would they be worth in the condition they were then,now?

Think I sold the s1 in a deal for about £3000 and the xr2 I got £750 for!!!
