Default C2 vts problem, sorry not a ford

hi all, the mrs has got a c2 vts and its whistling like a kettle, i belive its an air leak and have check the inlet manifold bolts(the ones i can see/feel) but this has not solved the issue. thought maybe a blocked breather causing a vacume/whistle from the cam cover but i removed the filler cap with engine running and no change so i think that rules that out.
help please ...

C2 forums just say took it back to dealers ...

Does it whistle all the time while the engine is running?

Get some intake cleaner & spray it round the inlet & surrounding. It will suck up & slightly race the engine when you find your air leak

The inlets are prone to leaks - alloy or plastic!!! They have a rubber seal between them and the head. Take it off and rub vaseline around the seal. Should sort it. If not, the inlet is cracked somewhere

Ok thanks, was hoping some bright helpful soul would have come across it before. Its a cast inlet. Looks like it is in two parts, the plenum bolted onto the ports with eight 8mm bolts the the ports to the head with what appears to be just four 10mm nuts/studs all on the underside

Yeah there is two type of inlet for that engine (TU5JP4S). I briefly had that inlet the time i was gathering bits for my Saxo turbo. If its that cast alloy one, it may have cracked. but pull it apart and make sure the seals aint fucked!
