Default Newbie Form Cheshire

Hi guys ive been a long time lurker but this is my first post. Im Alan from Runcorn, Cheshire. I currently drive a 2001 MK3 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Zetec in Juice Green, which ive owned for the past 18 months, I totally love the car.

Ive got one main problem which I can not get to the bottom of which is a water leaking into the boot. I have sealed around the n/s/r light cluster and bumper bolts. Ive also replaced the rear washer jet with a new one. as this was quite loose. But im still getting water coming into the rear nearside part of the boot just below the rear n/s light cluster but behind the side carpet. I can not find where its coming from.

When I replaced the rear washer jet I also checked all the rubber harnesses between the upper body of the car and where it enters the top of the tailgate and they all seem ok.

Its getting that way where it looks like I wil have to live with this water leak as its really starting to annoy me, and I can not think of anything else to do

Hello and welcome.

Can you not sit in the boot and get someone to spray a hoes pipe on the boot and the back of the car.

Tailgate seal seems ok from what I can see. No not got a sunroof.

Take all the carpet out of the corner and you should see a black plastic vent. They leak water in there and you need to remove the bumper to take the vent out mate so you can use some sealer on it and refit it. Make sure you put it back in the right way round as i have seen some fitted the wrong way and it makes it worse. The seal round the vent tends to perish over time and lets the water past as it runs down the outside of the car behind the bumper and thats why you cant find the leak because you cant see the vent.

Hope this helps you sort the problem out
