engine bay tidy up
hi iv got a s2 and im looking for a bit of advise,
im goin be taking engine out on monday to tidy the engine bay up, and also give the engine a good going over . . .
its a mfi standard engine im looking for advise what is worth doing to it while its out
already on it: aitech rad, twin fans, msd fan switch, lower temp therm, metal quadrant, mk5 clutch pedal, recon gearbox, new standard clutch fitted 1000(ish) miles ago
my plan at the moment is:
do cambelt and waterpump
crank seal as it was leaking from there last time was on the road
group a ignition coil
new actuator -31
iv got a bigger intercooler to go on
rocker cover gasket as slight leak
and general clean up and paint block
also looking at get new hose set
and obv service
then get it pro set up once on the road in summer with new chip ecu
any thing iv missed that you think i should be doin?
im not chasing big bhp figures here just want a fun reliable(ish) car
cheers for any input

A nice cone filter does add to the overall looks of the bay and will get you a couple more ponies...
Although a modified standard air box, as some say and is backed up with tests, is more efficient. Cone just looks nicer.
I'm also a fan of a bit of chrome too...
Good luck with the tidy up
