Had this before on TDDi's where there was no coil light flashing or illuminated yet the car was flat and gutless. Swapped the injectors and it was fine again.

I'd have thought a boost leak would bring on the coil light and produce a fault code relating to either inlet manifold pressure or airflow upper threshold exceeded.

A boost leak won't bring on any warning lights.

boost leak can put light on, most likely turbo underboost fault code or boost pressure sensor fault, as above, check all the boost hoses for splits etc.

seen lack of boost not put lights on and put it on, depending on driving conditions.

id start with EGR if no boost leaks personally

take some live data ideally with a good scanner

On TDDI? Are you sure? On a later TDCI, maybe, but not on a TDDI, or Euro3 TDCi.

Had this exact problem last week on my 53 plate zetec s tdci, completely gutless and flat

Checked the hoses and the cooler to egr valve hose had a large split in it, fixed that and it's good as new again,

My coil light or engine light did not come on or flash

I'm talking from personal experience, not what I've read. Where was the leak that caused the fault code, and what code came up?

Shame, I could have sold you a silicone one for a very good price!
If you fitted an OE one they can go again within a year!

I done one with eaxct same symptoms last week. It was the elbow shaped pipe going on to the right hand side of the inlet. The split was on the inside of the elbow. Very hard to spot.

The pipes cost up to £90 from Ford - I sell Silicone ones for £45 - and i'll guarentee it for the life of the car!
