It would be cheaper but as I havent been asked to do one I would not expect to match it on the 1st go but I would guess the second would be much closer,
I would love to have a go at one and see where we are at with the most pop choice of RX engine builder.

Well in all the years we have used him never had a issue over 2 million pounds worth of equipment and a low staff turn over but there again we wouldn't use pd due to when we have things have Brocken very easily and bad customer service so I guess is why we get a choice because not every supplier suits everybody

There would be some diff parts used and some would be my own and as I already use Arrow parts there would be a couple of parts made by the same company but spec would be diff as JG would have his exclusive parts just like I have also,
The production engine would cost more money and JG has his own YB tax as he earnt it.

I doubt you'll find any proper professional company that would commit vat fraud for you
you will probably get the 3% paypal fees deducted
cash will probably get you no more discount, well it wouldn't with me any way
if you opted to pay by Bank Transfer I would offer some extra discount as cash is the most expensive way of banking money

Look at his buying history on there and he hasnt sold a engine before on ebay by the looks of it, I would say its good marketing.

I would need to sit down and cost it correctly to know a price and then I couldnt post it on here as I would be classed as trading,

Well no one has quoted firm prices just Julian getting lambasted for his price on forum he knows little about and probably never got any builds offI don't there is anyone ATM that's actually got him worried yet either but tbh this is a rally cross engine there's a a lot more to it than a few Gucci parts

So why can't others see this you know to get to where you got to how much development costs.

Or are we all wrong and should ford charge 15k for a mk2 frs because that's how much it costs to build one out of parts

I cannot see how an equivilent can be built for that money, I can get to £45k in parts, less the build, dyno cost and VAT.
JG does not do forum or pub talk spec, so apart from the engine managment I would be very interested to know what parts you would not use in an engine built by yourself.
Any of your engines Ford or otherwise used in competition ?

You would need to add the vat to my price anyway,
I just dont get asked about race engines which I would love to do a few and see what they are like in competion.

if youre going for the "no replacement for displacement" route then you might as well do it properly and fit a late spec rolls royce merlin v12 130 that knocked out 2060bhp and then modify it like the development engines that by the end of the war made 2600bhp.

Would sound loads better than any poxy cossie.

@ mark Sheed I bet after a couple of race spec builds with your know how and yb experience you would be serious competition to Julian at the level he rules!

That's a bit like saying I've some real good home movies look out Spielberg
I dare say it would take a lot more than a couple of builds it would take a few seasons of wins and and as Peter at spec r has found out the discipline needed to supply anything at that level in Motorsport you have be able to drop everything and deal with issues ! So that means more staff to deal with day to day stuff and a lot of travelling which all drives the costs up and stress levels

So although the feats are great with rods car but 206 mph on a tv show won't cut it with people spending a lot of money to race ! So to do it means either go racing yourself and win everything and hope your not bankrupt before you prove a point or sponsor someone heavily to run your equipment until its proven
