What are people's experiences with this setup?
What ratio is the diff? It's the jag unit.
Don't know much about it but would like to. Cheers
Thanks

Been on mine for many years the diff will be a 3.54 i expect but check out the tags . One tag will give diff ratio & the other say PL if the diff is Power Loc.

Thanks for the reply Rod.
Ive done a search on here and there appears to be mixed feelings about them, but not always from people who have had the setup, so keen to get views from people who have had / still have them fitted.
What's it like to drive with? Does it make the back end feel more planted?
Thanks

One of the first Jag conversons was done to a Sierra in approx 1988, it was for a budget car to compete against the cost of the works items.
I bought the beam and diff from that car in 1998, it was built on the original XJS type not the later item, though the diff units are the same power loc units.
The later conversion i.e as in Rods car was inspired from when my own car was seen by a few on this forum
.
My conversion worked on the oe shafts, so no makiing new shafts, the conversion is very cheap tbh and works very well, if its put together correctly.

See this is where it gets difficult, as Rods car is testament that it can't be that bad, as I don't think I'd fancy doing 200mph with a rear setup I didn't trust.
Out of interest Rod, is yours the tubular arm setup?
Cheers

rods car proves how good it can work, i wouldnt hesitate to have it if i had a big power cossie, the whole conversion would be much cheaper than just one of those 10" ford diffs wouldnt it ? before i get shot in flames im not 100% sure it is 10" but the proper diff iirc was it the one they used in btcc ? mega money diff like Ł4000 odd ?
