When ep moved from bolney to horsham afr joined place and chris had originally come to ep but inbetween the move..

luke didnt have time to do all the work so afr took it on and finished it but im sure there is graphs for 148 hp after a lot of messing about??

The car was with ep but didnt get started as the guy was getting all the bits together for the conversion,then luke moved and afr took the job on..

Tom and bear built it and ike tried doing the mapping..

Mate tbh I dont give a fuck but what does grind me is the fact that Danny, Luke and this John fella all knew Lukes life was going shit shape and at best he made some silly mistakes as has been broadcast here on many occasions and at worst has openly admitted to not having his head in his work....yetr all of them still would promise the customers the earth in return for some hard earned cash(me being one of them).

Ive seen many shiny cosworth pistons before mate and as i said before im surprised your sticking with a std rod with a new build??

A 136 mm wrc rod and short skirt piston is a much better up grade and stops engine wear as quick too..


Im sure either way your old school set up will please you..

I appreciate that people can and do get sucked into things like i did after the RR day at Ep hence why i went back to Luke for the mapping but I will leave you with this Danny as it came from you as one of the last things you said as i left the workshop and quote " that is a good strong engine there and a genuine 490 bhp car"

tbf, the difference between 1.87 and 2.1 is what, 4 psi? I don't think that contributed to the engine failure. But the fact he's used the map off Steves car which had the resolution up past 2 Bar and changed it just makes me scream why?!

It did 491 after a lot of tweeks and i wasnt even there!!!lol


But hey i know fuck all!!!

So an engine you knew nothing about had a t4 strapped to it and 490 hp achieved and when it goes wrong you want to blame the guy that mapped it!!!

I think that should be a leason learnt in itself..

It was a base used for the fuel map iirc what luke said and nothing else and the engines are of different spec ie cossie 4is being std cr and steves lower cr(7.4 cr)so a different map in all other aspects..

Ep charged a very reasonable hourly rate and got a lot of work because of it!!

this is what still needs correcting, as people reading it that don't fully understand it may get the wrong impression, and that is all that i am concerned with. it's nothing personal against you or luke as i have not met you and am not so childish as to take sides against people as you seem to think

you cannot dispute that whilst a map with a much lower 'top line' than the boost seen on a rolling road may not have given problems on the rolling road (i.e. no det and good AFR), it is not the best way of doing it so i would never class it as 'good', and without proper road testing it would be unknown as to be 'not bad'.

the best way of doing it would have been to have suitable breakpoints to either cover the entire boost range if possible given the limitations of the MAP sensor, or to the maximum of the MAP sensor, whichever is greatest. that is indisputable fact. do you agree with that Danny?

the point is that if someone doing the mapping does not understand that simple principle then they are not very good at their job.

if they do understand that but choose not to bother because they are going through some personal problems, again they have not done a good job.

if they understand it, but don't know how to use the tools they have to change it, again they have not done a good job.

if they understand it but don't have the tools to change it, they should get some better tools in order to do a better job.

hopefully you can understand my point and agree it and we can draw a line under it as i'm starting to look more and more like chip posting
