Just a quick one lads on my FOCOS I'm bilding I'm running two fuel pumps wich my good mate Dave has done all the wiring on which I'm over the moon with but one thing is playing on my mind a bit . At the mo there is just a old L1 ECU wired up in the car with a Saff motor loom . As of yet the piping inside the car is not finished so no fuel in the tank . This is the question when I turn the key to were it would be egnishion on the pumps run and stay running is this right as on my 3dr pump turns off after a short time is this just the way Saff,s are or is it just Becuse there is no fuel to put the pumps under load or do you think we have got some thing rong . I'm just thinking if I have a smash the pumps will just keep pumping the fuel out which is not good

Having a crash has nothing to do with it, hence why a cut off switch is fitted on modern cars and Saphs, as the engine may not stop running in a crash in any case.
I suspect the fuel pump relay had been ground, opposed to being switched by the ECU, this is what gives the prime.
