Whats that clonking sound....
Been storing my brothers focus for a while as he is off round the world traveling.
The other month I noticed a loud clonk whenever i turned the wheels. Today I decided to see what was up, when to jack it up but it was a struggle to get the jack under the car, managed and found both front springs snapped no wonder it looked a little low
Just after he left I got a few bits sorted on it, and today I had to get a new battery, and now this, The car has cost him more since he left than in the last five years of running it, and it has only done about 10 miles, he will think I am fleecing him

Too true mate, I think using them everyday keeps them in better health, standing does them no good.My old S1 had more issues after it had been stored for winter than when it was being driven regularly.

All my cars have names.... all female .... an engineering tradition!
AS regards to using them a little use often seems to work very well for me! The only and bloody important caveat is it MUST be GARAGED in a warm dry garage overnight!
Over winter when it gets less use is when I seem t pick up more issues!

I'd shove lowering springs on the car as manufacturers ones seem to fail so regularly its unreal,we must have changed hundreds of them in the old garage all on post 1993/4 cars (something to do with paint apparently) yet aftermarket ones don't seem to suffer anything like as bad?
