also the fact it took him to 4th gear to get pasted , the vxr's are good cars but driving round in modern vauxhall's every day it just doesn't compare to the rs turbo,I like the raw feeling that no vxr will bring,,Would you have a corsa vxr put away in your garage as a sunday car?

1.6 Turbo Corsa VXR a supercar ?
No Biggie is what i thought 100% but he was winding me up the rest is history, it took me till 4th because i was spinning all the way from the start 30 psi isnt the most gentle of boosts when it drops in, plus ive got a standard XR3i box at the moment and the ratios are completely different, im due my new gearbox this friday, my clutch is also slipping very very slightly and my fly wheel has already been skimmed twice, in short from when i got my car back to now, i can feel the difference in grab on the clutch, so i went for a brand new one made of billet, hardened nose barring, high pressure clutch plate, and CTS stage 2 Plus gearbox, i also got the quick shift conversion kit to remedy the 2nd to 3rd gear changes. i should have all of it and fitted the following monday or turesday next week, lol i was actually trying to strip 5th gear the other day but somehow the box is holding up, the only thing that has started to give way is the clutch.
I never really wanted to spend more money on her but with the power and spec ive got 300bhp @ 331 lb/ft its only so long before you boot it and 5th strips or the box blows up, like i said the clutch is on its way out and it really needs doing, the other thing thats tells me the clutch is slipping is the speed differences at 3,000 revs, sometimes its 64 MPH and sometimes its 70 MHP also the wheel spin factor still happens but it happens later on higher up the gear range, really looking forward to feeling the new box when its put in.
I let lesser cars go and carry on but when its a stupid plastic Saxo or a haird dryer corsa provoking you on a semi congested motorway then its simply game on.

notice my post does not say its faster than a vxr,but everyday I would have a vxr but as something abit raw,retro and fun rs turbo every time and that does not mean the rs is better or faster but more special to me and Im fooking LMAO as never even knew MO was the OP, MO MO MO happy BS
I think people miss the points ive made about the condition and spec of box im running at the moment which is standard and with a slipping clutch and the fundamental fact that the VXR got fucked over a barrel even with those things taken ito consideration, people who use 30 PSI can surely relate to the wheel spin factor, he made head way on me because he launched before i did over a roundabout, i was over taking him at the end of 3rd into 4th pulled away even more as his poxy girly plastic engine didnt have anything left then to 5th with small acceleration as id already overtaken him, fact of the matter is the VXR lost after instigating a race with another motor, and my personal opinion of the Corsa VXR is "a girls car" 100% of the comment as its a poxy little trolley with a driving age range of 18-19-20 year olds who think a red badge on the boot makes it fast, especially ones who deliberately entice races.
Not worried about body mods and kits and looks as most of the time its an age or preference thing and can make your car less aerodynamic than it is and puts a statement out to other people like "look at me" as i drive past with my loud body kit and loud colours and with a face like my shit dont stink because ive got a LIME GREEN VXR.
VXR = SAXO in disguise, same old small car bullshit thats hyped up too much for its own good, and the reason i say that is why i started the post in the first place, people hear its fast and whatever, THEN THEY TRY RACING AND LOSE, whos the bloke whos going to have a terrible story to tell, answer is "NOT ME" the other bloke will, hes the one that lost to a 1980's ford in a new CORSA that is ovcourse he even mentions it to anyone.
Some people like em some people dont, i think most people would agree from my reply that i IN FACT do not like them and i dont like them even more because of some FAT git in a Corsa thinking hed try his luck by racing with an RS competition built engine.

i think what i was trying to put across was that Hes sounded like a hair dryer and mine sounded like a Touring car and it was all part of rubbing it in his face and putting a loud point across.

i think you need to wind your neck in a little, if you have 300bhp, why bother racing a vxr, i know i have more at hand in my xr2 and seriously can't be arsed racing most of the plastic fantastic out there. the corsa vxr is a good car though, compare that standard car to a standard rs turbo, not really worth bothering is it. now compare a competition vxr setup, different leagues again.
