The other day i was coming home from work on the motorway when i came to 1 of three roundabout i encounter on the way home, as i stopped at it a Blue ( GIRLY CAR ) Vauxhal Corsa VXR 1.6 Turbo came around the roundabout and look at the car then looked at me and while almost a laughing expression on his face, as he went round i joined the roundabout behind him and then joined the Motorway, i didnt floor it as it was a VXR with 190 odd BHP and 170 lb/ft and really didnt think it was worth the point in bothering, i think he realised i wasnt accelerating with him after about 200mtrs and the twat actually slowed down and enticed me to race him lol.

Anyhow, the second roundabout came up, he stayed in the left lane and i went in the right lane, ( both going straight over to join the motorway again ) he was reving his hair dryer up for the love of fuck lol, i hadnt opened mine up at all so far so i thought id do it in style and turn the Anti lag on.

the roundabout was clear and i gave a few PURE MOTOR SPORT revs into his driver side window while the wastegate was going off like no tomorrow, he launched first straight across without wheelspinning lol, me on the other hand span in 1st 2nd and part of 3rd as the 30 PSI came in lol, he gained on me for about 4 seconds untill i got into 4th, i really put the power down then into 5th, as i put it into 5th i was doing probably about 40-50 more than him and and the change came i blew the wastgate pressure off into his window again to the added sound of Anti lag, while wiggling my index finger left and right to tell him " NO NO NO MATE ".

Dont get me wrong, i should of just let him entice me and still not bother as the power difference is laughable, but seeing as it was a corsa i really couldnt help myself but to shut him up in the loudest possible way, i think the guy actually thought his car was unbeatable or something ?

( side note, some classic nutty barstard RS driving techniques were needed to really rub it in i.e lots of undertaking and darting in and out while destroying the opponent lol )

i had a few mins break and thought id share this with you guys, i'm shore some of you guys have similar story's.

 

I love admitting to racing on public roads. Makes me feel big.

I used to get a lot of Saxo types wanting the traffic light grand prix. Not much point but it's a laugh.

to me its like that sign you can get reading "RS parking only, lesser cars will be clamped" in my case its "Lesser cars can carry on whats the point"

But needless to say as i added before, it was a corsa and needed an example setting of it, and what better way to do it than in a 1980's Ford

I got laughed at by two guys coming out of a business park in a boxter with the roof down, they were stereo typical yupies. about a mile up I ended up behind them at traffic lights at the start of a dual carrigeway, both persisted to make it obvious they were taking the piss out of me, anyway they hoofed it so did I, stuck to the back off him all the way, until 70 of course and he pulled to the inside lane backed off and pretended to be talking on his mobile, I guess he wasn t chuffed he couldnt pull away from an old fiesta mk2 xr2 (with a tuned turbo engine in and standard to look at lol)

 

Yep! I'm not even driving a quick car and I still get pricks from college trying it with 3cyl corsa's

 

Nobody wants to race me either now.. When my M was standard every boy racer and every M3 M5 owner wanted too.. Now its modded looks aggresive and sounds absolutly mental people dont even try

Is it the Helical cut gears that make the noise or is it a full blown sequential box

Does not happen much but had it a few times, once in my S2 with a Audi TT guy looked well mad when I passed him on a duel carrigeway,
but the best was last weekend as a cock in a 98 Renault Scenic with tinted windows was showing me in my cossie how fast he could drive, stayed in the right hand lane and would not let me past as he was pushing 80

 

there is a time and a place to drive fast, such a shame when life is gone its gone. 80mph in built up area shocking

 

my username gives away my Torque from my Engine Dyno Sheet which was surprisingly 331 lb/ft and i own an RS so not too much thought into it really

 

Never in built up areas, only if and when on the Motorway, safest in my opionion although there is still a danger factor at speeds, but a choice between the 2 i would choose the motorway

 

40 in a built up area is enough, let alone 80

 

had it a few times. ive been guilty of goading aswell though. recently a new evo was toying with me upto about 120 and i then lost my nerve for fear of cameras ect. gave him thumbs up and away we went. had a punto turbo behind me the other day, credit were its due he hung on and i didnt really gap him. was expecting to anihilate him tbh. its not std though. have walked over countless saxo's, fiesta st's ect to the point i dont bother anymore. my car is a escort bonust with std rst and stage 2 hybrid with 10psi/18psi. nowt special but fast enough to be a handful in the damp. anyone who hasnt been a dickhead from time to time is lying.

I wasn't poking fun at your driving or the race. I'm guilty of the odd race even though I haven't got much power. All good fun. It was just the way you set the scene with the detail of the story. I felt like I was part of it. lol. I lined up next to a Nissan GTR in my 150bhp escort. Window's were down so I commented on how great it sounded. The driver and his passenger were good sport. I booted it and he just tore up the road like fuck . At the next set of light's they kept alongside me as I was wringing my car's neck, then they tore off again and he put his hand up. It's great when people can just appreciate fast car's, and those in fast or expensive car's are down to earth and not stuck up. Those that try to belittle people or mock other's however, do deserve showing up.
