Thinking a want a nice modern daily, and i keep looking at 4.2 S4 Avants.

I went in a 2.7 turbo one and honestly shit it - i wasn't expecting it - was told it was around 475bhp and thought he was talking BS but fucking hell it shifted like - was surprised how well it gripped the road

In fact it's for sale - this is the car and all work was done at Bahnstorm prepared, a pair of Seat K1 turbo's, front mount, rs4 clutch, Porsche cayenne 6 pots

Theres a fair few of us on here that have (or have had) B5 shape S4s (as pictured above)....FANTASTIC cars! Gutted I sold mine, but will have another 100%.

Mine like the one above was on K4 turbos but running about 440bhp, very reliable, mine was my daily drive, as they are for other members on here!

feel modern enough compared to a sapph? me and the missus borrowed my bosses e46 m3 the other day and both fell for how much nicer it was to drive about the city.

whats the mpg figures like on the 2.7? i know the 4.2 is very low twentys at best

I've never been in an s4 but its one of those cars I just want and have done for years! I've always wanted an avant but there's nice looking saloons on the bay for less than three grand it seems a sensible newer faster alternative to the iconic e36 m3!

From the owners I've spoken to that have had both all seem to prefer the earlier car. I was planning on one myself as my current A4 B5 has been nothing short of excellent. Saddly that plan will now be on hold for a few years.

Oh yeah the front suspension is multi link and arms have to be replaced with OE quality items. Diagnosing issues with a duff arm can be really tiresome. Even garages get it wrong when trying to diagnose a problem.

I had a V8 S4 last year, loved it end of!! Bit heavy on fuel if you drive it hard but am sure you are expectingt his. Was 100% reliable, comfy big enough inside.... One thing though, you HAVE to have a MIlltek fitted! The noise is emmense!!

Here's my old one....

ive got the B5 2.7 twin turbo, love it! Its in pretty much mint condition with only 72k on the clock. Pulls like a train and puts a smile on my face every time i get in it.
Possibly thinking of selling it though as i hardly use it anymore

Surry, what's it like in fuel around town and on a cruise?

How much is something like that worth?
