Default bedford autodrome

i fancy doing another track day there in the summer, i was there last year and was told my car was borderline in the driveby noise limit (IIRC 98db)

i have just been on the msv website and there are a few open lane ones this summer and they state the noise limit as 101db. does this mean they have relaxed their rules??

if so good news, if not my memory isnt what it used to be....(damn 30's)

cheers

Slightly off-topic, but is there anything on at Bedford in the next few days?? I'm down in the area until the weekend, so could pop up for a look-see if there was anything on.

Cheers,
Grant

So the track that is favoured due to run off now charges to use the runoff is this also the track that if you trigger the db limit they tell you to go home

A bit off putting tbh.

IIRC it's only 1 section of grass that you'd be charged for and thats because it's been recently laid (end of feb)? Or has it changed for everything now?

Shame the place sounds like hitler runs it as i've always fancied doing a trackday there as it looks good....but don't fancy paying grass cuttng fees or driving round on half throttle just in case you get slung off for noise

Brilliant track and if you did mow the lawn, then you should be sent home as you must be driving like a muppet lol.

The noise limit isnt an issue for alot of cars, but big power stuff does suffer. Its not their fault though, they have their hands tied sadly.

Look at it this way, all of Porkies cars are fine there for noise, thats quite a range of stuff.

Its always been pretty relaxed there, I wouldnt say its run by Hitler at all!

The grass cutting thing is stupid though!

I wouldn't stand a chance!
I clocked 104.9 dB driveby and Donnington last year had to keep lifting going over the start/finish line so I didn't get Black Flagged.

Lol the hitler comment was meant tongue in cheek as obviously i don't actually know any of the people who run the place......but have read numerous times about peoples days being ruined by the low noise regs that have had no problems elsewhere, and that they operate a one strike and you're out policy, so that along with the grass cutting doesn't sound overly relaxed to me
With a lot of cars being fairly 'big power' and thus noisy and the policy sounding so strict i'd imagine lots of cars being borderline so i'd rather not run the risk of wasting a day and go somewhere else tbh, but like i said is a shame as it looks a great track!

Using Porkie as an example at Bedford for noise is pointless really lol

He and them know each other well

I got all flagged there after 3 laps, 500 weekend down the drain

Can't see me ever going back there tbh

I was on limit on static and was told to short shift near meters and should be fine which I did. they mentioned grass as they had new fitted over winter if you chewed it up you would get a bill. I think it was idle threat to try keep people off while it set as we were up in feb. soon as me clutch done I'll be up there again. Been on back order with ap racing three months now lol. It is tight on noise but fantastic venue and track.
What makes me laugh they test f2 up there which must be serious on noise. They say only allowed to do certain times of day for a set period etc.
