As the title states. Ive just bought a 120d and wondered if anyone knows how to make them go a little faster. Its a 55 plate. I dont want to ruin the economy too much

Rob at SCC in St Albans did it for him, think it was a REVO remap. Certainly delivered the goods and the whole drivability was improved

Hi
Check out burger tuning.com You will have to google it. They are a bmw tuner in the states but do have an outlet over here.

They have everything you need. Once ive ran my 1m in then i'll be buying a tuning box from here.

Not sure how it would be with a remap AND a decat i would guess the emissions would be too high?

Theres a few good places around the country try a bmw forum for recommendations or a bit of googling , but new turbo diesels respond sooooo well to a decent remap always surprises me how quick they are compared to the older style diesels.

Diesel cars just have a smoke test not an emissions test.

Reason modern dervs respond so well to a remap, is as they are, in essence, restricted from the factory.

The reason being is powerful 'Nox' emissions, by advancing the injection timing you make far more efficient use of a given amount of fuel, thus a win win situation in terms of power and economy, BUT not good from a emissions perspective.

I always wonder how it works in relation to an MOT, as you now have harmful pollutants being emitted?

I dunno if its the same as the E46 320d, but my 320d had a cat directly after the turbo, As well as the main cat. It is vey restrictive and causes a lot of heat, decatting this releases more horses and makes it a shit load more responsive. Absolute bitch of a job to change though!

We can do them no probs, my 320d is now over 200bhp and returning 60mpg on a steady cruise.

One of my new intercoolers may even fit, along with a full decat, swirl flap and egr removal

Prices vary depending on your exact model and ECU model, £359 to £450

Typical gains of just a remap are 30bhp and 60nm of torque.

Other mods are extra, intercooler should be retailing at around £350,00 when complete, and it MAY fit your model, however it has been designed to fit the 3 series E46.
