Default Track Day Advice

Hi can anyone advise me on what/where would be the best place to go for a track day to suit my ability and my car? i live in the north east but can trailer it more or less anywhere, its a fairly standard 2i, exhaust, filter, Gaz coilovers and stainless brakelines its in mint condition but i've never done a track day before either.

My main concern is that my car is by no means fast when compared to normal track going cars would this be an issue? its not on the road as i am saving up to get a modified head and cam but would like to give it a little blast out.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatfully received.

Thanks in advance.

Bedford Autodrome is good for starters as there is loads of run off.

Anywhere will be amasing just know your ability and don't over step the limits of your talent.

Don't worry about being fast, concentrate on getting your lines and enjoy yourself

agree with that .. good track,
most important thing about a track day is .. enjoy it...
take it steady and get to learn your car as its a totally different experience.
be prepared and take spare brake pads, fluids etc as if you cook the pads your a tad buggered.
check everything on the car before you go.
everyone has to start somewhere so dont feel worried about your lack of experience etc but be very aware of traffic around you.. having cars shoot past you like your stood still then dive infront can be intimidating but if you think ahead its not an issue ..
would love to do another one as its been a while .. might have to nick the daughters golf

The bit about being aware of the cars around you is very good advice mate. I just done my first bit of track time and the cars seem to come from nowhere.

Bedford track looks good i must have the wrong impression thinkin most people might get irrate at slow cars but like been said its about ability i suppose.

Bedford have a novice day any opinions or is it not necessary?

Slow cars aren't the problem, it's slow cars being driven badly that is.
Take it to any track you like, just get some tuition, cheap and worth every penny to improve your day. Bedford is a great track.

Worth having a look at Palmer Autosport as they run trackdays for novices at quite a few circuits.
