yeah i did use google and found this exact picture. But i joined on here for advice and help as its a forum. So i thought id ask on here for people who have got this engine or who have had experience with this engine. I didnt join on here for sarcastic comments. But thank you for posting.

But for anyone else could help has anybody else got any pictures of theres maybe outside of the car, has anybody done a conversion putting this into a escort mk4?

I can only think of 1 reason you would want to put a kent in a mk4 escort

Fit a cvh or zetec will be a lot easier to find.

whats the one reason ?
well a friend of mine has a completely rotted out mk1 which has a good xr2 engine in it.
i know these other engines are better and probably easier to find, but i dont have a lot of money. was just seeing if anyone had done this as both the engines are pretty similar.

hahah i get ya plus the prices to declare a zetec is crazy but one of these engines is affordable.
Well hes unsure what he wants to do as its going to cost him more to scrap the car basically so it'd be more or less free.
im not really sure if its worth it i might just keep it as a 1.3 its not causing me any hassle other than my speedo has stopped working which is annoying.

ive checked the clocks themselves and i have unbolted the speedo cable from the gearbox and made sure it was all tight.

it made a difference for about 2 minutes and then it just stopped working again.

iirc the 1.6 has a taller block. but if you don't have a 1.3 kent engine to compare it with that isn't going to help you.

i think if you look near number four exhaust port theres a step down to the engine number where as the 1.3 the ledge with the number is level to the top face of the block? i think?

i think a 1.6 block sits above the gearbox but a 1.3 is level
the speedo is prob the cable
xr2 engines are good in xr2's but if you tell the insurance you have an xr2 engine i expect it will cost more that teling them you have a mondeo engine
thats how it used to work
theres an axpest that goes on engine and an xr2 engine will be more risk than a mondey lump
