If I was in your position and wanted to stay loyal to the Ford/RS brand, then I'd go for either a MK1 FRS or a MK2 FRS... neither should give you any hassle, both (with a few mods) are fairly awesome point to point cars and have the RS badge on the boot.
Failing that, if you don't mind going away from Ford with your 'toy' car, with that level of spends sitting there....... I'd be extremely tempted to take the plunge and go for an E46 M3 CSL.![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)

in about 2 month my car will be for sale Ł14k,
600+bhp (if you want it to!! can always turn it down!)
mk1 focus RS,
wrc kit (can unbolt and re-bolt origional panels on if wanted)
clean car,
stack dash,
stand alone managment etc etc the list goes on...
basically i cant use the car anymore as now have 4 kids and work away from home throughout the week, so my spare time is always family time.
car is priced to sell and not be greedy,
i have over Ł25k in this car, probably more nearer Ł30k!! iiao

Ariel Atom.
A limited mileage insurance policy with a specialist won't be much.
Or a well-spec'd Westfield. Kit car insurance = much cheapness.
Your budget may even stretch to an Adrenaline Murtaya if you're feeling particularly hardcore.
Couple of wildcard options, if you're purely looking for a toy, what about an older single-seater race car or more modern track-only car, would ease the insurance issue.
The other wildcard option would be an early Lotus Elise. You could get one covered on a classic car policy and it would be a sound investment and you won't lose anything. I guess it's been overlooked due to lack of power, but still an excellent track/Sunday B-Road car, plus it'd leave you plenty of funds if you wanted to go down the road of a VAG engine swap or something like that.

Right thanks for all the advice guys but I just couldn't stop going back jap and have secured a R32 GTR 500 plus bhp with an RK tuning engine rebuild, big ap brakes and a full cage...
And its at a good price too, I pick it up this evening!
The handling is unreal! And to say my neck was hurting when I got out of it is an understatement.
After looking at what turned out to be cat d patchwork quilt escorts, I viewed 3 at 12K I'm afraid the better car by far is a GTR.
But an escos will always be my favourite to look at!
Thanks again for all the help and advice
Oh and 450 a year insurance. Woo hoo!

I think you should buy a nice classic. I see in your original post that you have had some real good motors and been stung on a few? Classic retro is in order? IDE much rather have a mint GTE champ than a 500hp rust bucket or a "anyone could buy" motor.
As said. You wanna go fast?! Buy a 180 RWHP ZX10 and be done with it.
