i'm looking at getting some hid's, what temps are the best for visibility?

i want one that looks OE, rather than something thats too blue

anyone got examples of each colour?

thanks in advance

ps, I'm not interested in getting into the legal side of things, they will be for projector headlights, so no dazzling of other road users etc.

You mean 5000k I'm sure.

In my opinion as a lighting engineer the optimal colour temp is around 4300k, but these can be difficult to obtain for retrofit applications. I would not recomend going anywhere over 6000k as at this point they are a bit too blue and 8000k upwards are about as much use as a snooze button on a fire alarm

thanks for that I am going for some in FRST and I think they are 6K temp wise! I'll let you know how they ho over the next weel or so!

Do NOT fit them to your FRST. The lense is of the reflector type which offers very little control of the light and very poor cut off. You WILL dazzle the fuck out of anybody you sit behind or that comes towards you. The only units that can begin to accept retro fit HIDs are of the projector type.

i've had a look at a few sets, i think 5000k is the type i want, clean white.
