Help needed in Essex/Kent- Fiesta stalling Rs1800
Hi Chaps,
I thought I would treat myself to Class Si Fiesta at end of Jan, but its turning into a bit of nightmare.
I fitted the correct ECU over the weekend (it came missing an ECU as part of the deal), so I connected up my 2FBC ECU, and it would some times fire up, to about 1.5k and then stall. Worryingly, it sometimes would just crank over.
I could not keep it alive with the throttle.
I got the battery checked and its fine, according to Halfords.
A big problem is that I am trying to learn my way around the car- oil changes, brake pad changes are ok, but I am at a loss with things like this.
Anyone local to help out?
Planning on checking out the MAF, and digging around to find the idle control valve..where ever that is!
Will pay for the help of course, just want someone who knows there way around Fords!
Cheers in advance,
Kam

My money would be on the idle control valve mate for sure. It will be on the inlet manifold so don't panic just take it out clean the carbon off with carb cleaner. You can google a pic to see what it looks like

Cheers fellers. Hope you guys are right, I will try and get down to the lock up to get "Zippy" started. If any one fancies helping out on a race car for a bit of cash, please let me know.
Thanks,

They do some odd things when the batteries changed,my mum had an auto fiesta years ago and it would be idling at about 3000 rpm then hunting for the first few days after the battery change(or ECU reset in your case).
Was quite handy on dual carriageways as it felt like cruise control!!!

Hi Chaps,
Had a little bit of free time over the weekend; I think my FSe valve is faulty.
Filmed the attempted start up:

Are these easy to by-pass?
