Its one of the biggest ford track events of the year

There are some Clios going actually. I will ask them if they see a fast Mondeo!

Can we have some pics? really interested!

I do lots of trackdays and never seen a Mondeo used before really. Certainly not seen any fast ones other than Marts old Cossie powered thing

clios lift the rear wheel on corners, it's a geometry thing.

if you took a pic a few seconds earlier you'd probably see the M3 lifting a front wheel

after using an M3 on track a fair ammount over the years i can say what whilst it was a great fun car on track with nice handling, power etc. it certainly was not "cheap" the ongoing maintenence to keep one going on track was definately noticeable. Cheap to buy tho, you can get a nice one for <5k now!

I recon you could have 99% of the fun in a clio (if not more!) with 10% of the cost

on second thoughts, dont buy a nova.

what i thought was a faulty fuel pump has turned out to be a broken cam belt. and im out defrosting the block trying to get the frozen water pump out

Broken cam belt is one good reason to buy a nova, you can normally just fit a new one and off you go.
Belt went on my old nova gte while my mate was driving it, so he fitted a new one which cost him a tenner and took an hour, sorted.

If that had been a modern multivalve engine it would have be carnage in most cases.

hour and a half and 3 kettles full of water, and a blowtorch on the radiator to defrost it all. then took a hammer to the old pump and finally its out lol.

know what you mean about the non-interference engines. my 4.6mm lift cam has its benefits lol

You'll see from my avatar that I've got an ST24 and I wouldn't dream of taking it on track! Is yours the same? Late braking compared to an oil tanker yeah but a Clio er no. I also wouldn't risk the chance of oil surge and I'd need three miles of hose connected to the track's fuel supply! I really think you've had a few too many shandies pal.
EDIT: just seen photos forget the above, fancy a swap lmao.

Nope just the head lining, to be fair though i did start off with a Mondeo ST24 road car and it was very good, quite surprised on how well balenced the car was really thats what set me off on building a track one

Why would anybody think 'what the **** is that doing here'

When you have made it look like an actual race car? Surely then most people are gonna think its in EXACTLY the right place?

A standard looking one. Yep! can 10000% see your point!

I'll actually give you 600 if you ever decide to sell it, so you can make a profit, lol

Agreed!

From the looks of it my only question would be why it wasnt lapping much quicker, as I'd assume it had a 280bhp 10Krpm touring car motor in it, lol

If thats meant to be a sleeper its the worst one in the world, lol

We can have a little battle on slicks... track tyres... or road tyres

Your choice

Can you make Bedford on Feb 28th mate? should be great day. Lots of us going from here. We can even convoy up on way!

P.S if you kick my Clio's ass....

I am bringing out my other track car for revenge I am 'pretty' confident you wont stand a chance no matter how late you brake

I dont mind getting beaten, in fact I quite enjoy seeing a quicker car go past

TBH even though he's taken weight out etc, I still reckon our leather and aircon 172 daily will give him a very good run for his money.

Which highlights my point that the clio isnt something you need to do anything to for it to be good. Although ours does have a few more bhp probably on its new inlet.
