You get a torch and a screwdriver and climb in from the rear seat and push the lever on the lock/catch with the screwdriver.

The seats do have a 60:40 split arrangement, trouble is the levers to release them on Saphs are accessible via the boot

I presume it's delocked?

You can either try and sort the remote locking, unless it's a problem with the motor in which case you still need to access the boot, or alternativly try and lower the seats from within the car to get access.

Happened on a few of my cars and this is the only way unless you can unbolt the latch from the inside. Will come open with a screwdriver tho!

remove a rear speaker if you can and get your arm in the hole to pull the seat release then crawl in and open the boot

Aye thats right, the seat release is in the boot, I remember now! You have to remove the lower part of the seat, it just pulls out with the cloth ones, I'm not sure with leather though. Then you should be able to unbolt the seat backs from the hinge and make a big enough gap to get your arm in and up to pull the release.

By the above we are assuming your car is actually delocked? If not you can unlock with the key in the lock.

Wish I'd thought of going in through the speaker when it happened to me! Good thinking fella!

Spray a small amount of WD40 into the boot lock and carefully try wiggling the key to see if it can move as people do not use them enough and they tend to seize up.

Don't force the key though or it could snap in the lock itself.

If youre incredibly small and flexible, isnt there an opening behind the arm rest ?

Although I recently had to force my way past the rear seat ( pass side ) to get access to the boot to open a friends. Didnt do any real damage worth talking about. Was easier than I expected.

I disabled the seat catch when I delocked mine, just incase the lever next to the seat fucked up... Not wanting to piss on your chips, but I thought the speakers screwed in from inside the boot too!? Although, I guess a broken speaker wouldn't be as bad as smashing the rear light out if it came to it!? Good luck with it!!!

Thinking a bit further ahead, once you've gained access to the boot, remove the lock (takes about 5 minutes with a screwdriver and grazed knuckles), grease it up with long life grease, and re-fit it, or you'll end up with the same problem again. I got into the habit of removing/greasing mine when I had the same problem a few years ago.

The key part of the lock will be broken where it pulls the steel rod.

Drive to a school, hang around and offer a child sweets to get in your car and into the boot to lower the seats, thats bound to work.

you reach through the arm rest and pull the rear seat catches. Or just force a rear seat forwards to get access to the catch then get into the boot.
