I wont to paint my 6 point saftey devices rollcage, whats the best way to go about it? Do I paint it then fit it? hoping it doesn't get scratched or fit it first then paint it?*

At least paint the bits you won't reach when its in, it would be sods law you'll see the 'bald spot'! Id Rekon doing it all first,then cocoon it in brown paper....?

if its a bolt in one paint it before it goes in, have fun becuase there a complete ball ache to paint lol

Depends how nice you want it to look.

If just brushing it on, those little flat short bristle brushes give a much smoother finish than a conventional brush. Just try on a test piece first as there are loads of loose bristles in them. When clean it's quite easy to get a nice smooth finish
Means touch ups are simple too with brush paint, as it is going to get scratched in some places.

I just used Fortress satin black paint from B&Q ( doesnt require special thinners like shitty hammerite )

we wrapped mine in bubble wrap while fitting



have fun painting it





personally if i was to do it again i would have the cage powder coated cause no matter how careful you are getting in and out of the car you will scratch it

if its a bolt in one mate then put it in get it sitting were it needs to be drill the holes then take it out and paint it and then get a coulpe of mates round to help you to refit it pal job done thats the way i did mine any mate
