OK, I have identified the box as some kind of MTX. I was led to believe it was from a diesel due to gear ratios.
Can anyone help with the questions I've got ...here

thanks

yes you should be able to swap all the bits over, they are a nice box to work on, just make sure you put your shim spacers back in order on rebuild.

Cheers nevsrevs.

Got a couple of issues that I've read about though if I swap the bits over... can anyone confirm? Im thinking I need to use the whole FRS box, just have starter on the other side which is ok..

1 - I cant use proper FRS clutch as it wont fit in bellhousing of a normal MTX box?

?

Problems that using the FRS box will give me will be

1 - I have a shifter linkage at the minute and dont want to go cable as it could be a right PITA (dont forget this is mid engine RWD), cables will be wrong length etc

2 - electronic speedo on FRS box, Ive got an analogue speedo in my cluster....?? are there any digital 'dial' speedos or digi to analogue converters??

Can i use FRS clutch with zetec 2l flywheel??!! aaagh so many questions not enough answers.... yet!

you dont have to use a frs clutch, use a standard 2.0 flywheel and a sachs clutch, mines a focus 2.0 box with a diesel bell housing with a sachs clutch. with a gripper plated diff and mondeo gearset.

Cheers mate. It seems a lot of money to buy a Focus RS box though and not use most of it!! (only LSD). It would really offend me!!!
