When you see what reyland , scs , nms , mad , turbosystems , msd , field , etc are all doing in the ford scene & what they do its worlds apart & thats not even going near the jap market ! someone is needing to be a big name in scotland save everyone going south

Everyone has failures though, you mention SCS for example, but didnt they have a race car fail very recently with a big power ford motor in it?

Nothing wrong with that, im not having a go at them, perfectly acceptable IMHO for the odd blow up when you go racing, but just saying its not like AVA who are the only people who have cars blow up.

Likewise MAD have plenty of projects that have taken years, often due to customer funds not available etc I would imagine, or waiting for parts, on top of Sheady just not liking to rush things.

Again nothing wrong with that providing the customer kept informed and not given false promises etc, but just another example from the list you gave that sprung to mind.

So its easy to read too much into a few stories.

Ava's car's never get to the racing point tho chip ! , if your on about steven's escort was that not down to poor quality fuel in ireland ? if its another i stand corrected.

If it was jamies focus 700 bhp then going from 4th to 1st does make things blow up

A 1988 535i with over 400bhp at the wheels is not a quick 2 week in and out job. There will be issues as you find the weak areas of the engine. However, 5 years is taking the piss. But for all we know it took him that long to pay up! We don't know the whole story, and likely never will. Speculation isn't a good thing, and damages peoples livelyhoods.

My advice to everyone, is to buy an Evo. Everything is simpler with an Evo.

Probably one of the more sensible thing's i've saw you type in your time Rab and I think a lot of people on this thread actually need to read the part's in bold as no, you's don't know the full story, actually far from the truth, Along with a lot of what else is written here!

Carlo, can I ask out of interest what your problem with AVA/Alan is? It would appear you've been done over big time or Alan's shat on you're pillow...or something terribly bad as your libelous posts & threads about the place over the years never seem to let up, it would appear you're on a personal mission......

As much as I want to know, I think Davie should keep his fingers off the keys. It's a shame that the other side won't get read but hey ho life goes on.

Had my cossie i owned years ago set up twice there and car ran like a dream afterwords. Alan diagnosed my chip was faulty second time there a year later as readings were all over the place with fuelling etc etc

My mates cossie was also fully built there way back in the day with big spec and was a very strong quick engine.

Always going to be good and bad storries though

I wasnt impressed with the plenum either. It was just a bit of metal
bent over the manifold. IIRC he had a small turbo escort inlet but changed it for an ava one.

If you were to look at his dyno graph you would think that it would have great acceleration. He had 170bhp @ 3000rpm

how long does it usually take for a car to reach its top speed 30 odd seconds?

think the mapping there is very good and when tom was there the fabrication was excelent i had an exhaust manifold made by them it was the very good quality but they seem to have been left behind by sitec etc who are relatively new in comparison ava have no showcar or democar that i know of or could have went in another direction like jap or german cars but only car ive been in that they had anything to do with was wullie youngs old white s1 and it went very well
