Standard software allows around 10PSI, if it sees anymore than 13PSI a hard cut will be activated.

Whos the author of the chip, what actuator do you have and does your Amal valve work?

MSD stage 1 with closed loop -31 actuator, amal 100% working. Is there something else that is needed?

Assuming it's not a fuelling issue etc, then the best person to talk to would be the chip author, i.e. MSD.

No stage 1 is standard hardware, essentially it just allows a higher boost pressure to be run and remapped ignition curves.

A -31 actuator is reccomended, which you have anyway!

Feel free to send the chip back and I will check it for you. There should be no boost cut on a stage 1 as they go out of range of the map sensor

Knackered actuator or leaking dumpvalve? I had a faulty standard dumpvalve on mine, only allowed the car to boost to around 14 psi, took it out and it jumped to something like 25psi without touching anything else.

Very true! To the OP what do you define by it won't go any further, does it physically hold back etc?

Itjust revs on and holds the same lower pressure. I tried it in today again to see if it would work again but alas no good. The second time i took it out i broke two of the pins stoopid cont i am but i soldered two back on but as these were on the closed loop part im curious as to know is the chip still useful. James i will need the lower closed loop part again as even though i soldered them back on it is mickey mouse tbh. Thank you very much james for the offer of looking at it. I will send it on to you on the chip and if you let me know how much i owe you for it i will send it with the chip.

Standard dump valve on mine paul and actuator is new also same time as chip. So that should be ok. In saying that i got a new sytec fuel pump a few years back and after a long time of the car cutting out discovered the pump was a bad un. Got really fed up with the fecker and didnt really care about it in fact i hated it and am only now getting interested in it.

Well it goes mint on the standard map sensor and chip it is a 2bar one and goes to full boost on it. I will wait to see the diagnosis from MSD now as I could scratch my head all night wondering what it is. Its a bleedin pity I live so far away from MSD as they know what they about.

The lower part is the encryption key,

just fire it in with an invoice and a note explaining what it is, and i will look at it for you. dont worry about payment yet mate.

i have a stage 1 chip on mine and am very happy with it just a quick question tho you said with a stage 1 it will boost out of range is this a good thing should i fit a 3 bar map as well as mine boosts to 17psi but as i understand it sensor will only read to 14.5psi

no you can't use the 3 bar item on the stage 1 as the scaling is different,
