ford focus running issue
Hi guys
I bought a focus cl 2001 1.4 on friday. All working good when i bought it but now i have got a running issue. I never get any luck.
On start from cold within 1min the engine starts to hunt. grr!!
When warm and you are slowing down and put your foot on the brakes as you come to a stop the engine will rev up by itself and then come back down and settle.
I have had a little look tonight and there are no split hoses etc.
I did notice tonight that if you hold the throttle gently say 1500 rpm and then take your foot off, the revs will drop just below the tickover speed but also the interior light will flicker and you can hear the throttle butterfly fluttering and then after a few seconds this will settle.
I dont have any test gear so any advise would be appreciated.
I have a feeling i should now be looking at the iscv and the air mass unit,
so if any of you can help me id be very grateful as im now skint after buying the car
thanks
Paul

Check the breather hoses as you look through the inlet manifold they go soft and
usually go in a hole causing an air leak, if ok give the iscv a clean out and reset the kam(keep alive memory) by disconnecting the battery for 10 min
