Merc SLK 3.2 N/A servicing - changing spark plugs, how hard?

Default Merc SLK 3.2 N/A servicing - changing spark plugs, how hard?

a mate has asked me to service his SLK for him, its a 1999 3.2 na twin spark, so 12 spark plugs lol

is it just time consuming or a total twat for a home diy job?

also where is the fuel filter?

ive priced up the parts for him, he just want to know how much ill charge to do it!

plug aint that hard to do mate only hard bit is getting the leads off the plugs, about half hour 45 mins to do, sure the fuel filter is at the back by the diff under a plastic cover, on o/s dont hold me too it been a while since i done one

top stuff, so say 3 hours max to do plugs, fuel filter and oil change.

think they only ment to be done every 40000 or 50000 miles

Last time I did a twin spark Merc it was 60k service

cheers guys. i dont know the milage but hes doing 20k a year and had it a good few years so they are probably due.

the most expensive plugs on euro car parts are £5.40

dealers charge £410 to change plugs on the 3.2 if its part of an A service.

make sure you get branded plugs not denso shyte.

very long pointy nose 90degree pliers is what i use to get the plug end of the leads off.

about 20-30 min job.
