I really like this show and think the presenters are some of the best on the telly. But I now record the show so I can skip through the bloody prize-bundle horseshit, and when I strip out all this stuff and the ads, I can watch the whole show in little more than half the time.

Seriously, who actually CARES what's in the bundle? Does ANYONE say " I will/won't enter this week because the prize includes/doesn't include a xxx"?

It was bad enough before, but now they get some random to wander through a house reading out what's up for grabs, usually in some semi-literate style.

Am I just getting old, or is this just a cheap way for Channel 5 to fill an hour of telly and - they hope- sell a few more competition entries?

thats how they get the prizes to give away in the first place i guess, advertisement. As being a show about reviewing gadgets theyre not going to give away shit.

i'm the same though, i skip through the prize bit. Its the same with most shows though, 1 hour program once you cut out the adverts, recap on last show etc is only about 35mins

 

I've heard, and I don't know how true it is, but they make so much from the phone line that they don't have to blag half the stuff, they actually buy it if the person wants it, or they get the cash alternative (which most people would want I'd wager)

That could well be true as like most compititions they let you enter online for free where as with this and pretty much every channel 5 compitition (fifth gear etc) you HAVE to do it by phone so they can charge you Ł1.50 plus costs.

If the competition is classed as a 'lottery' then there has to be a free method of entry - In this case you can write in, which isn't technically free, so I'm surprised they get away with it.

It's a 'lottery' if the question is so easy that the majority of the viewers will be able to answer it without doing any research, which their questions are!
