Can you fit a genuine Garrett -34 on it and not a fake one.

well it looks like a boost leak of some sort then. If you have taken the boost controller out , there is no way the ecu can be cutting the boost electro/mechanically. Lot of mention about the dump valve from others above. Have you removed it to see if its split.

For you to loose 1/2 your boost it must be a huge leak in the TB??
When you loose the boost how does the car run? Rough or quite well considering?

More importantly, how did you do the leak test and what pressure did you use.

When the boost drops car still runs fine, to do the leak test we took filter off and blocked off the hose then plumber a t piece into the vacuum hose going to inlet and used compressor to fill the system. Got up to just over 1bar on boost gauge and leak was significant so i dread to think what it will be like at 2bar.

Mark i dont think a cossie style actuator will fit, im gonna fit standard inlet back on and see what its like.

you must attempt to take it to 2 bar for the test. Trust me you haven't got a compressor big enough to loose the same amount of air as a cosworth boosting to 2 bar then dropping back to 1 at full chat. If you can pressurise the system to 2 bar using a commercially available compressor even with a boost leak then that leak is not enough for you to loose a full bar of boost at 5k. A leak might sound very impressive and loud but it could just be a small one.
You must take the system or attempt to take the system up to the pressure you are using on the road.ie 2 bar.
