I think your tyres do quite well steve considering the 10k miles they have done on the rollers

you can't get blood out of a stone nor can you get power
your torque figure is realistic for the spec of your diy engine build
john has far more torque than you but I built that engine and mapped it
so when would you like to book in for me to build the engine
people always blame the mapper

what you needed to do was listen to the advice I gave you when you were building the engine instead of listening to your wallet

no wonder on 205s my push bike would spin with them get some wider r888s on there, i was amazed at the difference i got, i dare bet you would get full traction in second gear then easy.

stop being such a tight arse and buy some of these

for reference on pirelli n1 rossos i had no traction at 100 mph in 4th gear i now have full traction at 60 mph in 3rd gear on hot tarmac.

and there cheaper than a beam

what width are your rims ?

i guess not much cheaper but whats the point of having massive power with shit tyres, may aswell just have less power if the budget cannot sustain it, live within means and all that.

it is truly night and day difference between normal tyres and semi slicks, i wouldnt of believed the difference had i not experienced it myself

True, how long do you reckon they last compared to regular road tyres? And my car is used in all weathers and will be used all through winter in snow etc. So i dont want to run a semi slick if.i can help it
So long as the hankooks and beam give me grip in 2nd i will be happy
Also all this extra grip is putting more strain on my very tired sounding diff

they dont last long tbh there shit in the rain, although all tyres would be shit with 760 rwhp lol

i only use mine as a toy not an everyday car, but i had no grip even beyond the speed limit and r888s cured it

if your diff is stock id honestly change it buddy, i did 3 launches in my saph, nicely set up for launch with a bit of squat and on crappy hankook tyres broke 3 diffs planet gears with 3 launches

then i fitted a gripper from jay it honestly transformed the car, apart from the bang, bang, bang

you can only really go up to 225s on 7j 17s anyways so the only tyre that would make a big benefit is semi slicks fella, i guess some 9js would be another option on the back with 275/40/17s if theyd fit ?
