I don't understand why people really care so much about horsepower and torque numbers?!

Scenario A:

"Your fake Cossie has 75bhp and 65lb/ft"
"It goes like a train, I could give a flying fuck about numbers... I'm away to see if turning the car off when coasting downhill will help me acheive my true goal of 45mpg average across a tank of fuel"

Scenario B:

"Your fake Cossie has 450bhp and 400lb/ft"
"Fuck, it had bigger numbers last time, I'm really annoyed with that, it takes some of the enjoyment out of it all now that I think I'm less of a man since I lost all those apparently imaginary torques... and while I'm moaning, I secretly wish I'd bought that 3dr shell so people didn't mock me as much on the internets"

no i think you hit the nail on the head Grant ! steve isnt the only offender tho how many people own modified cars and cant really drive them or can and think they need 500.42 bhp in a road car or it cant be at a local meet or talked about in a pub lol ! i think also do it because they can not because they actually want lo ! i wonder how many poeple would own up that they have modded a car to much that its actually ruined the car for them .

With my old spec (T34.55, light head porting, 4x4 inlet) you could use more of the power more of the time.

It just needed a AB07 inlet cam to give it that extra bit of kick top end

But as Steve says you can't beat the top end pull both cars now have

what you want steve (4i) is a abo7 exhaust cam to increase your torque. now i wonder who has 1 of them coming out of there engine.

 

Jay I agree totally. I chased numbers with RSTs for a while, and just made the car crap and I hated it, and then sold it...... I had the most fun with the light mods. The stage 1 type stuff. Or maybe the stage 3 type stuff.



But as soon as you chase that number, you make compromises with the car to get it.

Just as well Ive got another spare engine lying about in bits in the garage. I can see that getting built back up with T34 and greys back on it and the T4'd motor sold within a year of getting it back on the road
