Can a tyre fitting centre balance alloys without tyres to check them?

Can a tyre fitting centre balance alloys without tyres to check them?

As above, been offered a set of alloys with no tyres, and wont be til next month I get tyres so was wondering if a tyre fitting centre can check alloys for straightness/buckles without having to have tyres on?

Chuck them on your car, and spin them with your hand while it's jacked up. You'll be able to see any buckles on them.

Yeh they could just put them on the balancing machine and spin the wheel by hand to see if its buckled.

You could always just run it down a slight slope or something. Any obvious buckle should stand out a mile.
