Default Screamer pipes.

The name obviously suggests they make rather a lot of noise, but are they really that loud? Im not convinced ever heard one!

Yes they are a bit!

They literally scream when on boost. Good example:

I got one already Dan! Mine runs an external gate...so does Alex, Clarke, Lee, Eren and Bamo. Basically everyone round here has a screamer pipe!

sounds awesome in a tunnel/bridge, get on it, can't even fail MOT as there isn't enough load to reach operating pressure

What gains are to be had from running one?

less gas flowing through the exhaust so more potential top bhp on a particular size exhaust.
it's more about the noise it has to be said. fitting an external wastegate is better as the valves are bigger than those in the exhaust housing and can flow more gas so won't build up too much boost and can reduce spikes a little too IIRC.
you can plumb the pipe into the exhaust or let it hang out and make an amazing sound

Sounds insane
So you can run one as well as a wastegate?

Ben.

you need to be on an external wastegate ideally or make a new flange/housing for the exhaust pipes out of turbo (only works with 5 bolt housings though).
then your're off, thing is mental when it opens as it's not a little puff of gas as you're on it when it opens so loads of gas flow making a very loud noise.

They're a no go if you ever want to do a track day. I've never yet seen one stay out on track with a drive by noise limit without getting black flagged!
