hello there folks i was just reading a ford magazine & came across paul johnsons mental fiesta which has a "screamer pipe" i have never heard of such a thing so could you enlighten me on what it is, how it works & does it help allot???

It the exhaust from an external wastegate, when the wastegate lifts it dumps the gasses down the sreamer pipe taking the hot gasses out of the engine bay. Some people tie the pipe back into the exhaust to help with noise regs.

Yes can only run one with an external gate as normal turbo wastegates are built into the eahaust housing so dump in to the downpipe.

screamers sound awesome. bloke off another site i use put up a vid of his mental power skyline with screamers and it sounds the tits

wouldnt say it amplifies the turbo noise it just screams at ya lol. his car was running circa 850bhp i think so may have been louder. but its the only car i can recal hearing one on. does sound the absolute nuts though

 

didnt someone on here have a screamer pipe on a rst using a t28 with internal gated

sure they made an elbow up to split the wastegate inside the turbo



theres a vid of it sumwhere at a track day a while ago its a white rst and sounded awsome when it went down the straights

Kelv has anyone tested your one in action? I have heard that ones that come off at 90 degrees like that really struggle to control boost at all....

And to everyone else. Don't forget Noise limits at trackdays. If you want to run on most tracks you will need to have the pipe silenced like mine.
