I used a 2.9 V6 4x4 flywheel with cosworth 4x4 clutch.
If you want to stay RWD try and get hold of a 2.9 XR4x4 gearbox as you will need it to get a hybrid built using the back end of your 2 litre box and the front end of the V6, you will need to use the V6 input shaft but I'm not sure on how much else ? Someone will be along to let you know
I made hybrid downpipes from granada 24v top secions and XR4x4 lower sections.
If you're staying RWD you will probably be able to keep the stock 24 valve sump.
Wiring was a pain and I had help from some buddies.
They can be a pain stalling at junctions, I think it's something to do with not having the autobox speed sensor connected...

Mark they only have the stalling at junctions problem normally if you have them on a type 9 box as no speed sensor. MT75 hybrid you was talking about has a speed sensor so they dont stall. Its easy to correct though, unplug idle control valve, up base idle and plug idle control valve back in.

if its 24v its cosworth. only difference is boa and bob which are granada and scorpio engines respectively. id say for yourself avoid the bob on your first conversion. better engine but the wiring is a whole world of pain

If you can find a rather rare granada mk3 2.8 v6 type 9 gearbox it will bolt straight up to a 24v with an xr4 flywheel and 2wd cossiw clutch. This is what I had in mine and it worked a treat although I used it for motorsport it took a fair time to take out 3rd gear!!!!

I used a Granada Scorpio ugly duckling shape diesel mt75 rear section of the box with xr4x4 front section when doing my mt75 box conversion it's easier than changing shafts and gears.
As for wording if you are lucky enough to find an early boa Granada, with Amber indicators, they come with a separate engine loom that simply in plugs under the dash, add a switched live, and a few other wires and job done! I found this out after spending days doing a later loom.

I did wind the idle speed up but it still stalled sometimes, at first I put it down to blocking off the EGR as my car had a servo and I used the EGR vacuum take off to power the brakes.

You can, but you will need a speed sensor on the box to wire to the ecu so it knows when you are stationary. You can use a speed sensor adapter from burtons to mount a fiesta/escort speed sensor. Bare in mind though if you are an aggressive driver the box will not last forever!!

it doesnt NEED a sensor. I ran a xr4i type 9 on my estate it didnt even have a speedo let alone a speed sensor. Upped the base idle and it never ever stalled at junctions. Took LOADS of abuse drifting, burnouts, general arsing around etc. Still going i believe. Did break a 7" diff though.
