Default fitting lifters on a cossie

fitting a new set of lifters on a cosworth engine, they have been soaked
in oil, do you need to do anything else, or just fit them??

I dont know, but what else could you do to them other than soak them?

I would have thought just fit them

now when u fit them let the engine idle for a while(could be 10-20 mins)b4 they go completely quiet so DONT rev it up!

Might be too late, but I am not sure soaking would do much, I can't see the oil making it's way into the lifter on its own. Might be worth pulling the plunger in/out with long nose pliers to force the oil in and air out.
