Default AIR INJECTORS ON EBAY!!!!!!

Unfortunatly a friend of mine has purchased 2 sets of these air injectors

The bodys are fine and have been copied from the original Motorsport application. However the Injectors them selves are not the right type and WILL NOT work for a long period of time if they work at all!

The Omh / resistance of the injectors are incorrect and should be avoided!

Easily remedied with a ballast resistor if you know what you are doing

Best save your cash anyway - Buy a boost controller !

Ginge,
Reduce the gain setting if you have one.
Not too much as this will make the car laggy !!

Sorry Phil, you are partly wrong there.

Correcting an injectors resistance using a ballast resistor will work
in air control as the time pulses are short and do not need to be accurate.
This also protects the ecu driver stage.

A series resistor will reduce the current across an injector and it will
not burn out. As I have said before, the only draw back is this increases
the injectors pulse width accuracy as the voltage is reduced but this
will not affect air control as it is the duty cycle that dictates operation
and NOT the pulse width.
I do know a little bit about electronics !!!

A fuel injector can only flow wet....to run it dry is not gonna give it a full life or no one would bother using more suitable ones.

See the thing is... The injectors have sum silicon or glue covering the numbers up An attempt has been made to get the numbers off the side with a large knife but was unsuccesful

He HAS tried!!!

The bloke who is selling the injectors is a complete cok. I will post a few of his emails telling my mate to F off and stop bothering him
(Great customer service skills )

I have found out that he has over 4 people who would like to chat with him in person so a road trip may be comming up very soon. I know of two users from this forum who are also having problems with the tuner/seller.

Stu, we both know the difference between the right and wrong injector!

We also know that a fuel injector is not ment for AIR! Along with the resistance being wrong! And the injector has not been modded.

+ why hide the injector number if its the right component. Its like covering up "200" on a yb block Why would you do it??

Dude there is mods you can do to the std injectors but you end up in the same situation of reliablity and results. Its far better if you use the AIR injectors which were designed to do just that. Inject Air

You would hide the part number if you came across a decent injector that does the job and you didnt want everyone copying it. Its simply protecting your R&D.

Jano_OddKidd,
Along with the resistance being wrong!
The "impedance" is wholly irrelevant as to wether it flows a gas or a liquid, and

Jano_OddKidd,
And the injector has not been modded.
I dont know what you mean by it not being modded as an air injector is dimensionally the same as a fuel version but with a different internal coil that doesnt require fuel to cool and lubricate it. Only a twat would do that fooking pintle mod ive seen done to fuel injectors cos they will still burn out anyway..lol

Dont think im having a dig Jano, im 100% not. I just dont want this chap whoever he is to be slated due to someones missinformation. Im not saying your wrong, im just saying you may not be right

I didnt say that the resistance had any thing to do with the cooling or lubrication of the injector, also the mod can be done to certain injectors which do flow fuel but only a set type! This will be the same as the Air injector but cost less! I dont see why you would be a "twat" for using this type?? As for it burning out, it has the same life cycle as any air injector would have.

I have the modded type on my setup and has never caused any problem with reliabilty in the last 7 months thats not to say it wont, it just hasnt yet.... if it does lead to a failure in the modded injector i would still be happy for the amount of money it costs in comparison.

Regards

Talk about ignoring my point...

Specific question:
How do you know these injectors are not "AIR" injectors if you do not know the part number?

Stu...i think that Bosch only ever did a B numbered proper air injector which was hugely expensive..may still be avalible...but i doubt the ones that Jano's mate has bought is them!!!!..The best are my ones that everyone is now using which are huge and for gas which is ideal for air..

Phil,

Original ford motosport air injectors bore the part no. B280 411 223/1 V4251.

In the past we have tried to obtain these and I was told the were discontinued...

3 weeks ago we did some extensive tests with the air injectors we have been producing with your injectors with no difference between the copies and the boreham originals.

Hope this helps..

These red ones have been on e-bay for some time...

Regards

Ian
