Default Anyone ever turbo'd a new shape mini?

We've had my Mrs's cooper for 8 years now and i really can't bare to part with it, it's simply a great car to drive. Only thing lacking is POWER! I know you can buy a cooper S but like I say the car is part of the family. Surely it can't be difficult to stick a small t2 on it.
Any ideas ????????
Jon

Doesn't the newer model have a Peugeot engine in it? So probably quite different.

I'd just sell it and buy an S.

I have mapped a 330hp supercharged one converted to turbo and was a awsome little car after we respecced the car due to the poor quality spec it had before.

think its a total diffrent set up when they whent to a turbo.lohan do turbo conversions.cant see it being cheap though.probs better off buying a copper s.
there oil feeds and returns needed, new manifold, diffrent exhaoust, loads to it when you think about it.

I realise there are a few fabrication problems but I reckon it might be worth a bash.

330bhp!!!!! Bugger me thats going to be mental. Can you remember the spec mark. I was thinking of just buying a cooper s lump and bolting a few bits to it with a cheap stand alone, say omex 600

Back to the drawing board. any ideas? I was hoping to get it done cheaper than just p/xing it, plus we'll have more tears than if the dog died if we chop it in.

Vipec do a ecu for it,
To turbo and sort the car correctly I bet it would cost 10K.

yep 10k is well out of the price bracket. Looks like "bumblebee" will be staying slow. Don't laugh, she saw transformers and her car is yellow, the rest is history.
