Oh right, interesting...
I drove it a few months ago and it's really weird in drive, so quick and smooth gear change then you put it in sport and it turns into a revvy monster, lol

Ive seen some very very nice examples of frs for that price matey! Your money mate just my 2 pence worth but id have a frs anyday over the golf, plus the fact that they have preety much hit rock bottom now with price and as with any Rs the price only goes on way over time ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)

Great cars rare to find a low mileage one that age, Dsg gti tend to be around £500 to £1k more than non Dsg.
Dsg is better than traditional auto quite good fun to play with the paddles or just leave in drive and it's like an auto ( although jerky in slow traffic). I preferred my manual 2005'gti to my Dsg 2006'gti' but if you are after an auto a golf gti T Dsg is a god choice.
Servicing is not much extra needs a Dsg oil service at something like 45k and 90k and it's not expensive eg £80. The mk5 is a massive improvement over the mk4 they are really good cars.

cheers lads, been to the dealership and they said it's been very well looked after, having interim oil changes and things, but they said the dsg service was £169
maybe shop around as I know VW prices for servicing and that are all different at
dealerships

I work at VW so have driven many examples.
Agree Mk5 Golf gti is such a superior car to a Mk4 Gti T, with a remap or without, drive better, handle better, and the mpg you would be shocked how good they are. manual or dsg. IMO back up there with the MK1 & MK2

I tested one before i got my focus st, was a year older (55) more than double the mileage an not as comfy, plus my missus didnt like the seats, coz she's only 5ft she couldnt see over steering wheel as you sit lower down, all round the focus wins hands down i say. Plus servicing an parts are cheaper for fords.
