How lucky was i!
I was about to set off on the m62 motorway to Dewsbury, but decided to go round to a mates first in Pontefract, about two miles from where i live in Castleford. All was fine 'til i went to stop ouside his house, and discovered i had no brakes whatsoever! Luckily i was slowing down so managed to stop with gears and handbrake and got out to find the road behind me covered in brake fluid. If i'd gone to Dewsbury first i could have been in hospital by now or worse! Haven't looked at the problem but the lhs wheel arch is covered in brake fluid. Couldn't drive home obviously so here is my car getting a lift home!

when did you put the 17's on?
Mabey they were rubbing against the brake line and eventually burst through it I had this once and it isnt funny, especially when approaching a roundabout

17s were on the car when i got it, i've now had a quick look at the car in the semi dark and the brake fluid is spraying out from somewhere near where the pipe meets to the caliper, though i cant feel any splits with my hand, I will investigate further when i get time / light.

The pipe does clip into place but it still touches the shocker where it bends back round, the next question will be whats the best/ easiest way to bleed the brakes on it after i've put on the new pipe

you are lucky mate. same sort of thing happened on my old mk6. driving down a hill, about 50mph and a tractor pulls out, press the brakes and i got non! ended up driving in to the field next to the road to avoid the tractor and all the fluid was pissing out, all over the wheel etc and to top it off the AA took over 2 hours to find me cos i was a good 20miles from home and did'nt fancy driving with no brakes

Hi mate - god you were lucky.
Best way to bleed the brakes is with one of those bleeder kits that you connect to your valve on your tyre. Pressurises the system and forces out the air bubbles.
Best Ł5 I ever spent.
