Default Focus Mk2 ST reverse switch?

Hi, i have just bought a focus st from Evans Halshaw Ford dealership, i noticed when i got it home last week that reverse light wasn't working so took it back an they explained that it was the reverse switch on the gearbox, does anyone know if its a big job to change them because at first they said they were ordering the part in an it would only take 5 mins to fit, however now they want it for a full day, they said the gearbox has to be dropped to change the switch, just seemed a little intense for such a small part, i know i'm not paying for it as i have standard 3 month warranty plus extended 2 year warranty but it just bugged me a little.

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light (excuse the pun!) on this situation. Thanks

Alright mate, do you know where the reverse switch is located on the gear box and is it actually impossible to do it without dropping the gear box? Thanks
