Question Bmw M3 advice!!

i know this is a ford forum, and there have been numerous posts like it, but the time has come to sell the saph cossie, i have narrowed my next car choice down to three, M3 E46 (2000-2004), Audi A6 2.7 (2005-onwards) and Audi A4 (2005-onwards). also i dont really want spend more than 10k, maybe stretch a little more for the right car.

i would just like sum peoples first hand views, if you have owned any of the above. and i would like to know how a M3, compares to a stage 3 saph cossie??

cheers in advance

Have you thought of looking at the BMW M5? I came bloody close to taking that jump myself, so much car for the money.

yeah, looked at the m5, thats another option, bit more rarer than the M3 as well, but i think i prefer the looks to the M3, and the audis, would love just to test drive them all, but there aint many cars for sale locally to me!!

I had a stage 3 3door and now have an e46 m3 also had a few cars between, there both great cars i love the m3 its quick, reliable, comfy, not bad on fuel ect. There a completley different sort of power you have to really work the m3 hard to get the best from it but there brilliant when you do. You'l probably miss the low down kick up the arse you get from the cossie

Also tried an m5 before i got the m3, the feel a lot more torquey and quicker but i thought they felt like a big boat compared and dont look as nice, other negatives were the trip computer reading 12mpg and you hear a lot about very high running costs

I've had a couple of stage 3 saffs and now have an E46 M3.

It is hands down the best car I've owned.

It looks great, plenty quick enough, handles amazingly well, goes well on track, has all the toys, and is reliable.

Perfect really....

Another vote for the M3 as a great all rounder. Last year I had a stage 3 2 wheel drive sapph and my M3 and although the Cosworth was faster in a straight line the M3 was a much better all rounder.

thing is the cossie, is just more of a hobbie, covering it, checking it, watch where to park it etc, and iam really getting tits off with the roads, speed humps and potholes, full of them stoke is!!! also iam just not having the time i used to with(started working for myself), just been on the audi r246 forum, and the rs4s and rs6s just look like the best all round package out there for the money i have, but really carnt believe how much the E46 bmw is good value!! i will just have get used to my insurance being closer to a grand, instead of the Ł189 on the cossie

I have a 3dr and an E46 M3.

M3 is fantastic. To echo someone above... it's fast even though plenty haters think they are not , it's comfortable, classy and reasonably economical.

I doubt that you could possibly be disappointed.
