As for getting it running, personally I'd use standalone on any track car anyway, so much easier to tune.
But if you wanted to use the standard management everyone manages it in other engines they put zetecs in so I dont see why you couldnt.
What sort of cost is Mtec V4 mate?? Although I'm not sure who would be able to map that up here, seem to be a lack of reliable tuners around from what I can see.

Chestersport cars do a complete off the shelf bike carb conversion and megajolt management for the Zetec engines the map is a very good base map
And the kit is Ł750 which is cheap considering you can take a standard 2.0 Zetec with this setup and a decent exhaust manifold and get 170bhp from it add cams and head work and you will be nearer 185-190bhp

This is route I have taken on my 1.7 puma engined Ka and once I've added some cams I'm aiming for 165-170bhp and everything else can remain stock as they are an all alloy engine with steel crank and rods and very cheap to buy 2nd hand if I blow it up
Yeah the chestersport conversion looks to be fantastic value, I'm sure it would be an absolute riot in a Ka!!

I had a standard and pretty ropey 1999 Ka a few years back and the handling was superb, one of the few cars that I could pretty much drive the country road home without lifting my foot off the floor.

Best bet is to contact Matt about the Mtech V4, he'll be able to give you a current price and probably recomend a tuner near you too.
Was about 500+VAT though IIRC

Pretty good value considering the 2 year warranty ETC I reckon.

It looks to be 495+VAT from his site, looks like it has quite a few useful features for the money too.

I've been over the moon with the one on my Clio although its a basic N/A engine so doesnt really use all the features available anyway, it but works really well, is well made, and the tuner software (which I think I had to pay about 30 quid to upgrade to the full version) is amazingly well featured.

I've probably asked this before but with these aftermarket ecu's etc, does that then do away with the pats system on fords and the chip key thing on corsas?I had an issue with a straightforward like for like engine swap on my Corsa 1.2 16v due to me not changing the wiring multiplug box on the side of the engine,I'm just wondering whether the same thing may occur on a Ka?
I'd never thought of a puma engine in one!!!!

The way that Tank Mike from Michael Woodford motorsport does it (he does more drive in drive out type conversions than I do as mine are normally on my car or my mates cars where we tend to just rewire everything on the whole car anyway, where as he is doing it for a living) is that he leaves the standard ECU in place for the immobiliser and the fuel cut on the pump when the engine stalls in an accident and to run the standard clocks with etc, and then just uses the Omex (his ecu of choice) to operate the injectors and coils.
Takes him and Jack around 2-3 hours to have most cars up and running on aftermarket doing it like that.

Ahh that makes sense.amazing the developments over the years,I remember my mate driving 1/2 way across the country to get a chip key and ecu to get a cavalier turbo conversion working, before the days of eBay and Internet forums were popular!!!!
