Default Garage pit ~ Where from??

I recently sore in a catalogue/mag a GRP garage pit.

Simply dig the hole, drop the GRP pit in and concrete around it, job done, no water ingress etc.

But now i can't find the advert anywhere.

Does anyone know how much these things are where from etc??

Thanks

Matt.

what u on about spiky? some garages use em lol

Why not jus dig a hole, make a wooden structure (deep rectangle) and concrete around that or brick up a rectangle would be cheeper and probably stronger than GRP (plastic?)

We have two brick lined pits in our garage and they tend to get full of water from the cars coming in wet and draining into them

Fancied the idea of GRP as its easy to keep clean etc.

I can't see a brick built pit being cheaper, especially as i can't lay bricks

My mum had one of those GRP pits in here old garage. very useful. Great for doing a sump gasket.
Sadly she doesn't own the house anymore, so I'm back to jack and axle stands on my driveway .

This place does 'em: www.mech-mate.com

Can install lights into 'em, has supports for bench seat and tray. Surface wipes clean easily and no damp or water in the bottom.

i thought these were illegal????
cant remember if having one installed in your garage is illegal i know there was i thing about not being able to get building regs for them though. like you mentioned spikey it is to do with building regs etc(something to do with exhaust fumes sinking into the pit and becoming hazardeous to work in ). . but then whos to know it wasn't installed years ago before the stupid law.
