Going very well there Mike. Man and machine in perfect harmony

I assume the bouncing about on the video is exagerated by the camera mount and its not really jarring you about as much as it looks? (dont see how it can be and still hold those corner speeds)

Do you think the box will get on your tits on the drive over to Germany? I always used to envy your car for how well it went on track without being compromised for the road but it seems to have gone past that now?
Do you think you will ever go back to a more road friendly spec or is the handling and power (and hopefully reliability) that it has now just too addictive for you to ever give up to get the car back to how it was as a road car?

I think these days with the roads so heavily policed that fast road cars are the least use they have ever been anyway TBH though.

On the bends, the car is struggling for grip and the back end is hopping a bit - but if you look closely at the silver GT3 RS in the last vid - you can see and hear that car is doing the same as well (so he's obviously pushing just as hard ). If you mean the constant vibration, that is because the camera was mounted to the back of the passenger seat which isn't properly rigid.

Regarding the compromise that I am having to accept on the gearbox, I do think EXACTLY the same as you have mentioned. On the road it is a bit tiresome and in that environment I do yearn for something more "ear" friendly, but on the track it is just awesome and I wouldn't want to go back to a syncro box, so am happy to accept the compromise.

As you say, you can't drive fast on the roads anymore and I'll quite happily drive at normal motorway speeds where the noise isn't too excessive, especially with some cracking 80s tunes pumping out of the stereo .

Or you could just keep it in 4th gear which will enable you to hear 80's music properly

Yeah it was the constant vibration I meant, and I assumed it was just the mount as it was far too quick through the bends to have been suffering the way it looked like it was.
Bit of rear end hopping about isnt a problem, all part of the fun

Your car as it was 6-8 years ago is still one of my favourite road cars of all time, so its a shame that side of it has had to die, but I can totally see why.
Only option that might be worth considering for anyone wanting a bit less of a compromise for noise I guess is the standard skyline box like Lloyd ran in his 4wd yb powered rs turbo? But thats not so easy to fit of course, so less of an "off the shelf" product you could sell.

Old age will only make things seem quieter anyway mike, so its all good news really in that respect

I do miss the old days of proper tear ups on the road, but they really are a thing of the past realistically these days if you need your license in tact for work etc
Plus cars these days are too fucking fast for really driving hard on the road, with 600bhp+ so cheaply achievable with things like evos and supras, its just far more power that we can all have access to if we want these days than is anywhere near safe for properly hard road driving, hell its double what a WRC car is allowed, lol
